For the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), Decanter is pleased to Thierry Meyer as its new Regional Chair for Alsace. 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the prestigious wine competition, which will be judged between April 29th and May 3rd in London.
Thierry Meyer will join the panel of some of the world’s most respected wine experts, chaired by Steven Spurrier, and will oversee the selection process for over 200 Alsace wines. Applying his expertise to the judging process, Meyer is implementing a change at the 2013 DWWA: Grand Cru wines will be tasted in order of terroir, thus placing an emphasis on each appellation’s unique character.
